Municipal Infrastructure

Infrastructure describes the structures and equipment that the municipality owns. In a effort to maintain the condition of municipal assets (worth $1.8 billion) the 2015/16 budget spent $93.2 million or 69% of the total capital budget on rehabilitation and replacement of existing assets.

To view the proposed 2015/16 capital budget by category, see capital budget graph.

Comparison of a home budget vs. the municipal budget is an easy illustration of how capital budgeting works.
