Hope Blooms is looking to expand its community garden and greenhouse facility with the addition of a Global Kitchen for Social Change. The proposed 3000 sq. ft. building would serve as a green energy, urban “Community Kitchen” and would be constructed adjacent to the Hope Blooms garden and greenhouse located in Murray Warrington Park.
The shared community space would be built for community inclusion, social impact, local food production, food security and innovation, and for building relationships across generations, cultures, ethnicities, and language through food in safe, inclusive, and vibrant spaces.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for a public engagement session on March 27 and shared feedback through our online survey. The results of the engagement and survey will be compiled and given to the Director of Parks & Recreation. A scenario of community support will allow Hope Blooms to start actively building their community kitchen. In a situation without community support for the project, the results will go back to Council for review.
