Integrated Mobility Plan

Integrated Mobility Plan

The Traveller Opinion Survey - Coming soon!

Since the Integrated Mobility Plan (IMP) was adopted by Regional Council in December 2017 we’ve been moving along through our list of action items. Help us measure the progress of the IMP by taking this survey. Tell us how you move through the region and how satisfied you are with our existing sustainable transportation systems (transit, walking & bicycling). This survey will give us an opportunity to learn more about how you travel, get your feedback and understand what motivates you to use sustainable transportation modes. With this information we can recommend improvements to our transportation system.

Background

The Integrated Mobility Plan (IMP) (PDF) was unanimously approved by Halifax Regional Council on December 5, 2017 (see approved motion). View the IMP council presentation December 5, 2017 Committee of the Whole Agenda.

The Integrated Mobility Plan (IMP) creates a vision for moving around the Halifax region and helps direct future investment in transportation demand management, transit, active transportation, and the roadway network it seeks to improve the links between residents and their communities.

The Integrated Mobility Plan stems from municipal policy direction in the Regional Plan for public transit and transportation, land use and growth centres, including the following:

  • providing a choice of integrated and connected travel options emphasizing public and community based transit, active transportation, carpooling and other viable alternatives to the single occupant vehicle;
  • Promote community development and design that supports affordable and sustainable transportation options;
  • Plan for our future transportation infrastructure needs; and,
  • Design complete streets for all ages, abilities and travel options.

    We’ve explored ideas for better transportation and now we want to present our findings to you.

    We’ve had two successful rounds of public engagement - thanks for your input. The Integrated Mobility Plan (IMP) team has begun to prepare the Plan for presentation to Committees and Council in June and July. This is the final check in with the community to present and explain draft strategies for the Integrated Mobility Plan. Feedback from this survey will be considered as the plan is finalized over the coming weeks.
