What is happening?
The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to help shape the future of Halifax Transit by sharing their feedback on a new transit plan.
Why are you creating a new transit plan?
Halifax Transit wants to update their strategic planning process, with a view to making regular improvements to Halifax Transit’s services and operations over the next three years. In contrast to previous five-year plans, this multi-year plan will offer something new that will more easily respond to the needs of residents and our growing municipality.

How do I complete the survey?
We’re asking residents to review the proposed plan details and complete a survey available at shapeyourcityhalifax.ca/core-service-plan. The survey will remain open until Sunday, Sept. 28.
Will there be any in-person public engagement events where residents can provide feedback?
Yes. Staff will be on buses, in terminals, and out in communities to hear from people one-on-one. A schedule of pop-up engagements can be found on the Core Service Plan Shape Your City page.
What will you do with the feedback given by residents?
Feedback from residents will inform the creation of a new Core Service Plan launching in 2025.
What is the Core Service Plan?
This Core Service Plan outlines route changes and service level adjustments to services to better align with the needs of residents and efficiency of service.
