Regional Council Approves Downtown Halifax HCD Background Study
The Heritage Conservation Districts Regulations requires the approval of a background study before the community engagement and planning phase of the process to establish an HCD. Provincial Minister Reviews Downtown Halifax HCD Background Study
The Minister for Communities, Culture and Heritage notified the Municipality that they received background studies and other materials as part of the process of establishing a new heritage conservation district in Downtown Halifax under the Heritage Property Act.
In accordance with Section 7 of the Heritage Conservation Districts Regulations, the Minister indicated that no additional studies are required.
The Municipality Holds 1st Public Meeting
In accordance with the Public Participation Program adopted for the establishment of the Heritage Conservation District, the Municipality held an initial public information meeting (virtual) to present the background studies and to discuss heritage conservation measures proposed for the Heritage Conservation District Plan.
