Project overview

The North Woodside Community Centre Park provides recreation space for several Dartmouth communities. North Woodside Community Centre is located in the park, serving as a community hub. Though owned by the municipality, the Centre is managed by the North Woodside Community Association Board.

The park is one of the most developed parks in the area and includes: 

  • playgrounds
  • a half basketball court
  • an outdoor gym
  • walking paths (some with lights)
  • large play lawn
  • wooded and natural areas
  • benches

Regional Council directed that a park plan be prepared through the adoption of the 2025/26 Parks & Recreation Business Plan.

What’s happening next?

  • Park design concepts are being prepared for the community to review.
  • A public open house will take place:
    June 25 | 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. | North Woodside Community Centre, room MPR1
  • An online public survey will be available (on this project page) starting on June 25.

Specifically, to understand if the proposed changes satisfy the need for upgraded and expanded park facilities, improved enjoyment and aesthetics of the park, increased access for all users and an improved sense of safety.
