Residents are invited to share their feedback on if there is resident interest in creating a membership option that could provide access to all municipally owned recreation facilities. Public feedback will inform a staff report that will be presented to Regional Council.
Project overview
- We are now seeking input from current recreation centre members and possible members to help draft a one membership option.
- The Community Facility Master Plan 2 (CFMP2) was approved by Regional Council in February 2017.
- Section 6.1 of the plan identifies gaps and opportunities, one of which is a one membership option.
- In the documents section you will find the CFMP2 and the One Membership Information Report to Regional Council.
Purpose of engagement
- The purpose of this survey is to determine:
- the level of demand for a one membership option;
- the facilities that would be most desirable to attend through one membership; and
- what increased cost is suitable for one membership.
- The results from this engagement will support Regional Council in deciding its priorities.
What can be influenced at this time
- Members can provide input on whether they would use a facility aside from a "home" facility.
- Possible members can provide input on whether a one membership option would entice them to get a membership.
- Residents can provide input on the acceptable cost of a one membership option.
Next steps
- After the survey closes, the feedback will be analyzed for trends and considerations.
- Municipal staff will prepare a recommendation report to Regional Council in time to be considered for the 2026/27 municipal budget.
