You're invited to the next phase of public engagement where we’ll be presenting two schematic designs of the street showing options for amenities – items like benches, trees, planters, bus stops and lighting. We hope you will attend and share with us what elements are most important to you. Your input will inform the final design.

Regional Council approves the Functional Plan for the portion of Spring Garden Road generally between South Park Street and Queen Street.

The Transportation Standing Committee recommends that Regional Council approve the Functional Plan for Spring Garden Road.

The Imagine Spring Garden Road project team met with members of the Spring Garden Area Business Association to review the options and answer questions.

Imagine SGR project manager Elora Wilkinson will be on hand at Park Lane Mall (outside of Dollarama) from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m. to answer any questions you might have about the different options proposed for Spring Garden Road. Stop by and have a chat.

We're back 😉 and seeking your input on three options for the functional plan for Spring Garden Road. This phase focuses on major components of the street like relative widths of the road and sidewalk, transit priority, and space to enhance pedestrian & retail experience. We want you to tell us which option is your favourite and what you like and don't like about the different plans. Phase 2 will focus on design treatments for the selected functional plan, so we would ask that you keep those in mind when choosing your preferred functional plan. There will be another round of engagement to look at design treatments at a later date.

Members of the Imagine Spring Garden Road project team met with the board of the Spring Garden Road Area Business Association to discuss the functional plan options.

The public will be invited to Imagine Spring Garden Road - to work together to develop a shared vision for this great downtown Halifax street. Everyone will be invited to join the conversation about what works or what doesn't work.

The Spring Garden Road team will invite key stakeholders to have a conversation about the larger public engagement. Discussion will include what's important to talk about and how best to hear all the voices.

The team will work together with Spring Garden Road Area business owners to discuss the project, construction implications and mitigation.

The stoplet will be installed July-October 2018.
